- SFP28 runs at 25 Gb/s and is the common server-to-switch speed in newer data centres
- 25GBASE-SR reaches about 70 m on OM3 and 100 m on OM4 multimode
- Many SFP28 optics also run at 10G; check that the host port supports the slower speed
- Longer 25G copper DACs need forward error correction (FEC) enabled on both ends
