Larger data halls and multi-building campuses use it where 100 to 150 m is not enough but single-mode cabling is not installed. Juniper lists 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4. It also lists a 4x10G-SR mode, which suits breakout to four 10G SFP+ ports on a compatible platform. Connector is MPO-12. Cabling for QFX-QSFP-40G-ESR4: use a multimode trunk with MPO-12 connectors and correct polarity, OM3 or OM4.
