JNP-QSFP-DAC-5M is a passive QSFP+ direct-attach copper cable of 5 m for 40 Gigabit Ethernet between two QSFP+ ports. Check the host device against the Juniper compatibility tool before purchase, because listings are made per model and per release. The compatibility tool shows 740-038625 as the underlying part number. It reports no optical diagnostics, as there is no laser in the path. The conductor is 26 AWG twinax. Typical use is a 40G uplink or switch-to-switch link inside a data-centre row. Juniper lists an operating temperature of –40° C to 85° C. Both ports need to be set up for 40G, not for breakout mode. The 5 m length is a common choice for end-of-row or neighbouring-rack connections. Supplied new, in the original sealed packaging.
