A three-metre 40 Gigabit QSFP+ direct-attach copper cable with fixed connectors at each end. At this length it reaches between adjacent racks and from leaf switches to nearby aggregation devices without needing fibre or optical modules. Power use is about 0.1 W per end and the temperature range is 0 to 70 degrees C. Both ports must be 40G QSFP+ or QSFP28 ports running in 40G mode, and some CX models need the port group or speed mode configured before the cable comes up. It is a straight 40G cable and cannot be used as a 4x10G breakout. A 1 m cable, JH234A, is available for racks close together, and the 5 m JH236A suits longer runs. Because copper cables have tighter bend rules than fibre, the routing should keep to the minimum radius given by the manufacturer.
