Description
A one-metre 40 Gigabit direct-attach copper cable with QSFP+ connectors on both ends. It is meant for short links between neighbouring switches or from a switch to a storage array in the same rack, avoiding the cost and power draw of optical modules. Each end uses about 0.1 W, and the cable is rated for 0 to 70 degrees C. The connectors are permanent, so cleaning and module selection are not issues. It carries a native 40G link only, not a four-way split into 10G; those breakout cables are different products. Longer versions in the family are JH235A at 3 m and JH236A at 5 m. QSFP+ cages on some models need a 40G speed or port-group setting first, such as the 9300S and 10040 models in the vendor guide.
