Description
A single-lane 100 Gigabit QSFP28 module that sends 100G PAM4 at 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fibre, with a reach of 2 km. Because it uses one lane instead of four, it connects to one channel of a 400G 4x100G FR breakout optic or to another 100G FR1 module, and is not interoperable with 100G CWDM4 or LR4. Typical use is a short data-centre campus link or a breakout from a 400G port into four 100G ports. Transmit power is -3.1 to +4 dBm and the receiver range is -7.1 to +4 dBm. DOM is supported. The module consumes about 4.5 W and operates from 0 to 70 degrees C. The vendor guide notes that on the 8100 series, using this module reduces the maximum rated ambient temperature of the switch by 5 degrees C. Duplex LC single-mode patch cords connect each end.
