Description
A 100 Gigabit QSFP28 module with four 25G lanes at 850 nm over parallel multimode fibre. It is used for short leaf-to-spine links and aggregation inside a data hall. Distance is 70 m on OM3 and 100 m on OM4. Output power is -8.4 to +2.4 dBm per lane, and the receiver covers -10.3 to +2.4 dBm. Digital optical monitoring is provided. It draws about 3.5 W and is rated 0 to 70 degrees C. The connector is a 12-fibre MPO with physical contact polish, of which eight fibres are used, and APC-polished cable must not be used. Where the switch supports it, the optic can be split into four 25G channels, with software release limits given in the vendor guide for the 8325, 8360, 9300 and 10000 families; the 8400X JL366A module cannot split it. It will not interoperate with SR2 or other PAM4 variants.
