Description
A long-reach 100 Gigabit QSFP28 module using four 25G wavelengths in the 1295 to 1310 nm region for spans up to 40 km over duplex single-mode fibre. It is meant for metro links, campus interconnects and data-centre-to-data-centre routes. Forward error correction must be on at both ends to achieve the full distance. Transmit power per lane is -2.5 to +6.5 dBm and the receive range is -20.5 to -3.5 dBm. DOM is included. The module needs about 5 W, which is more than shorter-reach QSFP28 optics, and operates from 0 to 70 degrees C. The TAA-compliant version, S6H33A, shares the same specification. The vendor guide limits the number of these modules that some switches, including the 8325 family, can carry at once, so check the per-chassis count. Connection is a duplex LC fibre pair of standard single-mode.
