Description
A 100 Gigabit QSFP28 transceiver that uses four wavelengths around 1295 to 1310 nm, each at 25G, multiplexed onto a duplex single-mode fibre pair. Rated reach is 10 km, which suits links between buildings, between data halls and across campuses. Transmit power per lane is -4.3 to +4.5 dBm and receive power is -10.6 to +4.5 dBm. Digital optical monitoring is built in. The module needs about 3.5 W and operates from 0 to 70 degrees C. Connection uses standard duplex LC cabling. It is interoperable with the TAA variant, S6H32A, listed in the same table, but the vendor guide warns that single-lane 100G LR modules are not compatible with LR4 because of the lane count difference. It cannot be split into 25G links. Some models, such as the 6300 with 100G ports, require interface-group configuration for 100G operation.
