Description
A 25 Gigabit long-reach SFP28 module that sends at 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fibre to a distance of 10 km. It fits leaf-to-spine runs across a large site, building-to-building fibre and short metro hand-offs where multimode optics fall short. Stated launch power is -7.0 to +2.0 dBm and receive power is -13.3 to +2.0 dBm. The module provides partial digital optical monitoring, consumes about 1.5 W and is rated for 0 to 70 degrees C. A duplex LC pair of 9/125 micron cable connects each end, and the other end should be a 25GBASE-LR device. It is also the 25G optic that the vendor guide names as a lane-split target for the 400G PLR8 module. As with other SFP28 parts, switches that group ports need the group set to 25G, and 25G operation depends on the model and software release.
