Description
A 25 Gigabit short-reach SFP28 module using an 850 nm transmitter over duplex multimode fibre. It is aimed at server-to-switch connections in data-centre racks and at leaf uplinks over short fibre runs. Distance is 70 m on OM3 and 100 m on OM4 cable. Transmit power is -8.4 to +2.4 dBm and the receiver range is -10.3 to +2.4 dBm. The module reports partial digital optical monitoring and draws about 1.2 W, within a commercial 0 to 70 degrees C range. Connection is by a standard duplex LC multimode patch cord at each end. Some switches, including the 8325 and 8360, group SFP28 ports and need an interface-group setting if 25G is not the default. Where the platform allows it, the same cage can also be used by the 10G SFP+ modules. A C-class variant, S2P33A, shares the same specification.
