Description
A 40 Gigabit QSFP+ BiDi module that carries two 20G channels per fibre using 850 nm and 900 nm light, so it runs over a standard duplex LC multimode pair instead of the 12-fibre MPO cabling that SR4 optics need. This lets a data centre upgrade from 10G to 40G on existing duplex fibre. The stated reach is 100 m on OM3 and 150 m on OM4, and OM1 or OM2 cable is not supported. Transmit power is -4 to +5 dBm and receive power is -6 to +5 dBm. DOM is included. The module draws about 3.5 W and is rated for the commercial 0 to 70 degrees C range. Both ends of a link must be BiDi modules of the same type; it will not interoperate with SR4 optics. It cannot be split into 10G breakout channels.
