Description
The longest cable in this 10 Gigabit SFP+ direct-attach family at seven metres, fitted with a fixed connector at each end. It covers row-length distances such as a switch to servers a few cabinets away, where shorter cables would not reach but optical modules are not wanted. Each end uses about 0.1 W and the cable is rated for the commercial 0 to 70 degrees C range. Because the length is greater than the 1 m and 3 m versions, support is narrower: the vendor guide lists it for the 2930M, 5400R, 5420, 8400X modules and 6200M models, while the 2930F, 6100, 6200F, 6300 and 9300 series entries cover only the shorter cables. Connection is plug-and-play with no separate optics. The cable carries 10G only and cannot be used for 1 Gigabit links.
