This 3 m cable (EX-SFP-10GE-DAC-3M) joins two SFP+ ports with twinax copper, so no separate optics are needed. The stated operating range runs 0° C to 70° C. Listed maximum power is 0.5 W. There is no optical monitoring, since the link is electrical end to end. With only 3 m of cable, this one is meant for short, tidy connections close to the switch. Typical use is linking servers and storage to the top-of-rack switch at 10G. Check the host device against the Juniper compatibility tool before purchase, because listings are made per model and per release. Both ends must be set to 10G operation on the host ports.
