Description

A reduced-reach 40G single-mode QSFP+ module, listed in Cisco's 40GBASE datasheet as LR4-Lite. It uses the same four-wavelength scheme as LR4 optics (1271 to 1331 nm) over a duplex LC fibre pair but is specified for 2 km on G.652 fibre rather than 10 km, which suits intra-campus links and links between data halls in the same site. Its WSP part-number prefix differs from the QSFP- prefix on most Cisco 40G optics, so confirm that your host lists this exact code. The datasheet gives a power draw of up to 3.5 W and an operating range of 10 to 60 degC, narrower than most 40G optics, and a yellow pull tab.
