The SFP-H25G-CU1.5M is a passive copper cable for 25 Gigabit Ethernet, 1.5 m long, with an SFP28 connector on each end. As a pre-terminated unit, it removes the need to match, stock or clean separate pluggable modules at either end. Neighbouring cabinets in a row are the usual target, with the switch in one rack and its connected hosts in that one or the next. Keep a spare of the same length on the shelf if the link is critical, as there is no field repair for a moulded cable. Cisco's 25GBASE SFP28 data sheet lists it as a 25GBASE-CR1 direct-attach cable. It joins SFP28 ports directly, can carry FCoE with suitable host software, and has no active parts or diagnostics. No host forward error correction is required at this length. Because it is built to a set length, stock planning is by length, so a rack plan listing each link helps ordering. Plan the route before ordering, because a fixed-length cable cannot be shortened or extended later.
