Description
A five-metre SFP28 direct-attach copper cable for 25 Gigabit Ethernet, the longest passive-style option in this family. It reaches from a top-of-rack switch to servers a few positions away, or across to a neighbouring cabinet, without optical modules. Each end uses roughly 0.1 W and the cable is specified for the commercial 0 to 70 degrees C range. The connectors are permanently attached, so there is nothing to clean or replace. It runs at 25G only and requires 25G-capable SFP28 cages; on models with grouped ports, such as the 8325, 8360, 8400X 32-port module and 10000, the port group has to be at 25G. Support listings in the vendor guide mention the 5420, 6300, 6300L, 6400, 8325 48Y8C, 8360 and 10000 families. If a link needs more reach, an AOC or optical module is the next step, while shorter runs can use the 3 m or 0.65 m cable.
