The SFP-H10GB-CU3M is a passive twinax copper cable, 3 m long, with an SFP+ connector permanently attached at each end. Seat each plug until it latches, then give the cable a gentle tug to confirm the pull-tab latch has engaged. Route it clear of power cords and fan exhaust where possible, to keep the cable run tidy and serviceable. Cisco lists this length on 30 AWG twinax, a thinner and more flexible conductor. It carries a 10 Gigabit Ethernet link between two SFP+ ports and needs no separate transceivers. It is intended for data-centre environments and has a standard commercial temperature range. Because it is built to a set length, stock planning is by length, so a rack plan listing each link helps ordering. The length gives some freedom in equipment placement, so the switch need not sit in the exact middle of the rack. With no active electronics it draws very little power, about 0.1 W per the data sheet, and reports no digital diagnostics.
