The QSFP-H40G-CU3M is a passive copper cable for 40 Gigabit Ethernet, 3 m long, with a QSFP+ connector on each end. Both ends are permanently attached, so nothing needs cleaning, and the whole cable is replaced if either end is damaged. As a pre-terminated unit, it removes the need to match, stock or clean separate pluggable modules at either end. It spans a full rack and typically the adjacent rack as well, with room for a tidy loop in the vertical cable manager. It connects two QSFP+ ports directly, contains no active electronics and gives no digital diagnostics. Cisco's 40GBASE QSFP data sheet groups it with the 40GBASE-CR4 copper cables, which carry four 10G lanes in each direction. The cable is wider and stiffer than a 10G twinax, so allow a gentle bend radius when dressing it. Store unused lengths coiled loosely in their bag so the jacket and strain reliefs keep their shape. Both connector ends use the same housing style, so the cable has no preferred direction when installed.
