The QSFP-H40G-CU2M is a passive copper cable for 40 Gigabit Ethernet, 2 m long, with a QSFP+ connector on each end. It is intended for data-centre environments and has a standard commercial temperature range. The cable is wider and stiffer than a 10G twinax, so allow a gentle bend radius when dressing it. Store unused lengths coiled loosely in their bag so the jacket and strain reliefs keep their shape. Neat hook-and-loop strapping helps keep front-to-back airflow clear around the switch faceplate. It connects two QSFP+ ports directly, contains no active electronics and gives no digital diagnostics. This length covers links within one rack, and reaches the next cabinet when the two racks stand side by side. Hot-swap behaviour follows the host port, and the link normally comes up once both ends are seated. Cisco's 40GBASE QSFP data sheet groups it with the 40GBASE-CR4 copper cables, which carry four 10G lanes in each direction.
