The QSFP-H40G-ACU10M is an active copper cable for 40 Gigabit Ethernet, 10 m long, with a QSFP+ connector fixed to each end. It is intended for data-centre environments and has a standard commercial temperature range. Both ends are permanently attached, so nothing needs cleaning, and the whole cable is replaced if either end is damaged. Use it when equipment is a few cabinets apart and a shorter cable would be pulled tight. The cable is a single sealed assembly, supplied as the spare part number with the equals suffix. That extends copper beyond the 5 m limit of the passive range, carrying four 10G lanes each way between QSFP+ ports. It is an option when a mostly in-row 40G link has to span several cabinets and you would rather avoid optical modules. Plan the route before ordering, because a fixed-length cable cannot be shortened or extended later. Cisco's 40GBASE QSFP data sheet lists it with the active copper cables, which add signal conditioning in the connectors.
