Description

The standard-rate version of Cisco's 40G long-reach QSFP+ optic. It carries four wavelengths between 1271 and 1331 nm over one pair of G.652 single-mode fibres, terminated with duplex LC connectors, and supports links up to 10 km with a guaranteed bit error ratio of 1E-12 at that distance. Cisco states that this module supports the 40G Ethernet rate only, so it is the right choice for plain Ethernet links and not for OTN-framed transport, for which the plain LR4 exists. Common deployments are inter-building campus backbones and data-centre interconnects over dark fibre. Power draw is up to 3.5 W and the operating range is 0 to 70 degC, with a blue pull tab.
