Description
A single-wavelength 100G QSFP28 module for duplex single-mode fibre. Instead of four lanes it transmits one 100G PAM4 signal at about 1310 nm, giving a reach of 2 km over G.652 fibre with LC connectors, in line with the FR1 class of standards. Cisco notes that it can also be used in DR-type applications over shorter links. It is a newer single-lane design, so both ends of a link should be FR-class modules. Maximum power is 4.3 W with a 0 to 70 degC range. The host port must support PAM4 and the matching forward error correction. Typical use is spine-to-leaf or inter-hall links of up to a couple of kilometres. Check platform and release support in the Cisco optics compatibility matrix.
