Description
A 100G QSFP28 module based on the CWDM4 multi-source agreement, which uses four coarse-wavelength lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm over a duplex single-mode LC link of up to 2 km. It is aimed at data-centre campuses and large halls where distances are beyond multimode reach but do not justify 10 km LR4 optics, usually at a lower cost per port. Cisco rates it at up to 3.5 W over 0 to 70 degC. Both ends of the link should be CWDM4 modules; the datasheet separately lists a Lite variant that interoperates with it. The wavelength grid is the same one used by 40G LR4 optics, but the electrical and line coding differ, so the two cannot be mixed. Check host and software support in the Cisco optics compatibility matrix before ordering.
