The QSFP-100G-CU2M is a passive copper cable for 100 Gigabit Ethernet, 2 m long, with a QSFP28 connector at each end. This length covers links within one rack, and reaches the next cabinet when the two racks stand side by side. Both ends are permanently attached, so nothing needs cleaning, and the whole cable is replaced if either end is damaged. The twinax bundle is thicker and stiffer than 10G or 25G cables, so leave room for a gentle bend at each connector. Route it clear of power cords and fan exhaust where possible, to keep the cable run tidy and serviceable. Both connector ends use the same housing style, so the cable has no preferred direction when installed. Cisco's 100GBASE QSFP-100G data sheet lists it as a 100GBASE-CR4 direct-attach cable carrying four 25G lanes each way. Neat hook-and-loop strapping helps keep front-to-back airflow clear around the switch faceplate. It links two QSFP28 ports directly; the passive build means very low power draw and no digital diagnostics.
