The thirty-metre member of the 100 Gigabit QSFP28 active optical cable family, intended for links between distant racks or across a hall. It integrates multimode fibre and optical engines in a single assembly, removing the need for transceivers, trunk cables and patch panels on a point-to-point connection. Operation is specified for the commercial 0 to 70 degrees C range. Each end is a QSFP28 plug, so both devices need 100G ports; the link carries four 25G lanes and cannot be broken out. The vendor guide lists support on the CX 6300 (100G-port models), 6400 (S0E48A), 8100, 8325, 8360, 8400X, 9300, 9300S, 10000 and 10040 families. Shorter options include JL856A at 2 m, R0Z27A at 7 m and R0Z28A at 15 m. At this length pulling the cable through tray or conduit calls for care, since the connectors are fixed to the fibre and cannot be replaced individually.
