Description
A 10 Gigabit short-reach SFP+ transceiver working at 850 nm over multimode fibre. It is the standard module for switch-to-server, top-of-rack and building-riser connections where cable runs are short. Maximum distance is 300 m on OM3 fibre and 400 m on OM4, falling to 82 m on OM2 and 33 m on 62.5 micron OM1 cable. Output power is between -7.3 and -1 dBm and receive range is -9.9 to +0.5 dBm. Four manufacturer part codes cover earlier and later hardware revisions, and DOM readings are available through the switch. Power draw is about 1 W, and the module is rated 0 to 70 degrees C. A duplex LC multimode patch cord is needed at each end, and the opposite device must also run 10GBASE-SR. A 10G module will not work in a 1G-only SFP port.
