The QSFP-100G-AOC3M is a 100 Gigabit active optical cable, 3 m long, with a QSFP28 connector at each end and multimode fibre carrying four 25G lanes between them. Hot-swap behaviour follows the host port, and the link normally comes up once both ends are seated. Handle it by the connector bodies, keep the bend radius generous, and avoid tight ties that squeeze the jacket. As a pre-terminated unit, it removes the need to match, stock or clean separate pluggable modules at either end. The optics are sealed into the connector bodies, so there is no MPO fibre to clean and no module pairing to manage. It spans a full rack and typically the adjacent rack as well, with room for a tidy loop in the vertical cable manager. The slim, flexible fibre jacket is easier to route than 100G copper and keeps working at distances where passive copper runs out.
