Description
A seven-metre 25 Gigabit SFP28 active optical cable that integrates multimode fibre and the optics into one assembly. The extra reach over the 3 m cable allows connections between racks in the same row or from a switch at the end of a row to servers further along. It draws about 1 W at each end and is specified over 0 to 70 degrees C. Because the transceivers are fixed to the cable, the part cannot be cleaned or adjusted, but it is lighter and has a tighter bend radius than a comparable copper cable. The vendor guide gives support for the 5420, 6300L, 8325 48Y8C, 8325H, 8360, 8400X and 10000 families, and excludes 25G AOCs on the 8325 32C and 8325P. It pairs naturally with SFP28 ports set to 25G, and with the 3 m and 15 m versions of the same cable.
