Description
A three-metre active optical cable with SFP28 ends, carrying 25 Gigabit Ethernet over multimode fibre built into a single jacket. Compared with copper DACs it is lighter and more flexible, which helps in crowded cable trays, while still avoiding separate transceivers and patch cords. Power draw is about 1 W per end and the cable is rated for 0 to 70 degrees C. It connects two 25G SFP28 ports and is typical for server-to-leaf links in a row. The vendor guide lists support on the 5420, 6300L, 8325 48Y8C, 8325H, 8360, 8400X and 10000 families starting at various CX releases, and states that 25G AOCs are not supported on the 8325 32C and 8325P models.
