SFP-25G-AOC3M=

The SFP-25G-AOC3M is a 25 Gigabit active optical cable, 3 m long, with an SFP28 connector on each end and multimode fibre between them. Because it is built to a set length, stock planning is by length, so a rack plan listing each link helps ordering. Both ends are permanently attached, so nothing needs cleaning, and the whole cable is replaced if either end is damaged. The slim fibre jacket is lighter than twinax copper, which helps in crowded trays and server cabinets. Choose it for rows of cabinets where the cable must leave one rack, cross a short gap and enter the next. The optics are sealed inside the connector bodies, so installation is simply plugging in both ends. Cisco's 25GBASE SFP28 data sheet lists it as a 25GBASE-AOC assembly and says the host may use either BASE-R or RS-FEC. Neat hook-and-loop strapping helps keep front-to-back airflow clear around the switch faceplate. Label both ends at installation, since cables of different lengths look identical in a dense rack.
