The SFP-25G-AOC10M is a 25 Gigabit active optical cable, 10 m long, with an SFP28 connector on each end and multimode fibre between them. The optics are sealed inside the connector bodies, so installation is simply plugging in both ends. Both ends are permanently attached, so nothing needs cleaning, and the whole cable is replaced if either end is damaged. Label both ends at installation, since cables of different lengths look identical in a dense rack. The slim fibre jacket is lighter than twinax copper, which helps in crowded trays and server cabinets. The cable is a single sealed assembly, supplied as the spare part number with the equals suffix. Cisco's 25GBASE SFP28 data sheet lists it as a 25GBASE-AOC assembly and says the host may use either BASE-R or RS-FEC. The rate is fixed by the cable type, so the port at each end must be set for the matching speed. It suits end-of-row and adjacent-rack layouts where the route is longer than the straight-line distance between the two ports.
