It spans a full rack and typically the adjacent rack as well, with room for a tidy loop in the vertical cable manager. It feeds several 10G servers or switches from one 40G port, and the host port must be set to four-way split mode. Store unused lengths coiled loosely in their bag so the jacket and strain reliefs keep their shape. Neat hook-and-loop strapping helps keep front-to-back airflow clear around the switch faceplate. Laying the cable in before the equipment is fully racked leaves the final connection for last and saves rework. Multimode fibre runs inside the jacket and the optics are built into the connector bodies, so no separate transceivers are required.
